HealthWise Perioperative Nutritional Guidelines
(to be used in conjunction with the ASMBS guidelines)
Preoperative: Patients diets will progress from unrestricted grocery and restaurant foods during the first few weeks of month 1 preop to a full fast VLCD (very low calorie diet) during the last 2-4 weeks of month 6. All patients will be taking HealthWise preop vitamins.

Patient�s physician/surgeon will check vitamin levels per every 3 months the first year, then semiannually thereafter to determine need for HealthWise Metabolic Vitamin B12, Iron or other vitamin/mineral supplements.
